Our story
In 2021, Arjun Nair and Preethi Venkataraman were navigating an arranged marriage introduction in Bangalore. Both were professionals in their thirties — pragmatic, thoughtful, and aware that the traditional process relied heavily on community reputation and family trust.
The introduction had gone well. They liked each other. But Preethi's family had questions that felt too sensitive to ask directly, and Arjun's family had concerns they could not voice without seeming rude or suspicious.
"We were lucky," Preethi says. "But we kept thinking about all the couples who weren't — and about how much anxiety and uncertainty the whole process creates, for everyone involved."
Arjun, with a background in data analytics, and Preethi, a trained psychologist with an M.Phil from NIMHANS, spent a year researching psychometric compatibility frameworks and consulting with senior Jyotish scholars.
MyTrueMatch launched in early 2023 with a simple conviction: the most important decision of your life deserves more than hope.
